Blvd. Magazine Presents Fashion's Night Out!

Tomorrow night, MARY, along with other area boutiques, will be participating in Blvd. Magazine's charity fashion show. The magazine has teamed up the Junior League of Athens to put on this event and all of the proceeds will go to Junior League charities. The event is being held at Georgia Traditions and is open to the public. Tickets are $5.00 and the doors open at 6:30 pm. There will be drinks, music and of course great fall fashion!! After the show we will have a booth set up so that you can buy all of the latest fall looks. We hope that you will be able to stop by and enjoy this great event and help raise money for Junior League. See you there!!

New Lines Now Available At MARY!!

Over the past few days we have welcomed 3 new lines to MARY and we are very excited about all of them! They are all up and coming lines that are gaining a steady following across the nation. Keep reading to learn all about the designers behind these new lines and the amazing products they have to offer.

!iT Jeans

The biggest trend in denim over the past decade has been designer jeans. Though these jeans can be pretty pricey, with prices ranging from $150-$300, girls everywhere are willing to fork over this money because of the amazing fit, wide variety of styles and washes that these designer lines offer. What if you could get the great fit, style and variety of designer jeans for a fraction of the price??? Well, now you can with MARY's latest denim line, !iT Jeans. Based in LA, the design team behind !iT Jeans pride themselves on providing the best quality, fit and style in denim at affordable prices. The line was launched in 2003 and has grown to include women's, men's and children's denim. They have also received a lot of press as of late, being featured in Lucky, Women's Wear Daily, Elle and O Magazine to name a few. These jeans can be found in major department stores such as Macy's and Nordstrom's, as well as in boutiques such as Fred Segal and now MARY. We currently have three styles of jeans, which are pictured below, as well as a great jean jacket.

Hottie Low Rider Boot--This fit sits low on the hip and is slightly fitted, finishing in a boot. This low rider boot is perfect for any body types.

Diva Curvy Low Rider Boot--This fit is lower in the front with a higher back rise, designed for added coverage. The leg is a loose fit, finishing with a boot leg.

Rising Starlet Comfort Rider Skinny Leg--This fit is a contemporary look featuring a narrow, skinny leg.

LENORA DAME

Although she began her career in advertising, Lenora Dame has always had a love for all things vintage. Her frequent visits to flea markets, antique shops and auctions inspired to create her own jewelry line. Her pieces are known for their electice combinations of old and new materials, wood, glass, textiles, found objects, lucite, paper and twine. This unexpected use of materials results in bold stand out pieces that are still refined and easy to wear in day to day life. Lenora has even created several exclusive gameday pieces for MARY. David Aubrey is an NYC based jewelry company whose vision and focus rely on originality, qaulity and elegance. The comapny founded in 1996 and has grown to be known for their beautiful pieces made with semiprecious stones, vintage glass beads, mother of pearl and carved bone. The line ranges from delicate meticulously created pieces to larger, more eye catching pieces. The David Aubrey style is unique and easily recognizable. Our favorite piece from the fall line is the beautiful Zodiac necklaces (below). There is a necklace for each sign and they feature symbols and stones associated with the sign. Each necklace comes with a personal horoscope. A definite must-have for the fall!

Fall Trends!!

Unfortunately, summer is quickly coming to an end. While many view this as a sad thing, the girls at MARY love when the seasons change because it means new and amazing fashions to fall in love with. We have spent some time studying the runways and have compiled what we believe to be this season's must follow trends. Of course, what you see walking down the runway at Fashion Week is probably not appropriate for everyday life so we have translated fall's trends into looks that can work for everyday. Prepare to fall in love!

WE LOVE THE 80's!!

Almost every runway featured garments drawing inspiration from the 1980's and the rebirth of this decade is definitely this season's biggest trend. Now this may sound a little scary to some of you because, lets be honest, the 80's are responsible for some of fashion's biggest disasters (two words...fanny packs). But designers everywhere have left those fashion faux-pas behind and brought back to life the best the 80's has to offer. For this trend think layers of lace, lingerie detailing, leggings and of course, a healthy dose of attitude! While many designers chose to feature over-the-top 80's outfits on the runways this past spring, the key to making this look work for the regular woman is to simplify the outfits and add touches of the 80's.

This sequin top paired with leggings and some killer ankle boots is the perfect outfit for going out. Not brave enough to wear leggings, we are obsessed with 7 for all Mankind Gweneviere pants (pictured above). These skinny black pants have the look and feel of leggings but are cut like a pair jeans. They are great for day or night! Sequins and tight black pants a little too much for you? Try this Trina Turk dress instead! Featuring a classic and flattering silhouette, the pattern of this dress and the big belt are subtle nods to 80's.

Another easy way to work the 80's in to your wardrobe this fall is through color. As we all know, the 1980's was known for massive amounts of neon colors. Well those colors are back and in full force. You can try the head to toe neon featured at some shows last spring but we think its better to stick one bright piece per outfit. Pair a brightly colored shirt, such as this green ruffle shirt from RYU with black pants and a great pair of stilettos and you are good to go!

And don't forget the accessories! You can't go wrong with chain detailing, like the silver cuff above, and lots of layers. Don't be scared of the 80's!! Channel your inner material girl and you will look fab!! Be sure to check back soon for more fall trends!

Introducing Leona!

Leona has arrived at MARY and it is quickly becoming one of our favorite new lines!! The creative mind behind Leona is Lauren Leonard, who was born and raised here in the South. After spending time in New York City pursuing her fashion dreams, she returned to the South to begin her own line. What resulted was Leona, a contemporary luxury line of clothes for sophisticated but fun-loving women. Lauren has said that her line is "about gaining the adoration of your boyfriend's parents and making him swoon all in one dress. Its a balancing act of charming and sexy." Since it's debut in 2008, Leona has developed a faithful following and we are so excited that it can now be found exclusively at MARY.

We love the the combination of classic silhouettes with fun details. Bows, bold prints, and luxurious fabrics characterize the line. In addition to their great fall collection, Leona has created a game day dress exclusively for MARY. The Dorothy Dress, available in a deep red, is going to be this football season's must have dress. And as if this dress wasn't great enough already, it can be worn 4 ways making it a great dress for the whole year. Georgia's Tax Free Holiday

July 30th -August 2nd is Georgia's Tax Free Holiday!! Starting tomorrow all clothing in the store will be tax free. In addition, there are huge markdowns throughout the store. Select spring and summer merchandise is now 50% off! We hope you will stop by the store this weekend and stock up on some great clothes before school starts!

Are you ready??

It is almost the end of summer and that means Rush is right around the corner! Whether you are a freshman going through or already a member of a sorority, you will need plenty of dresses to make it through the event filled week. MARY is here for you with a wide selection of dresses and accessories to make sure you look your best.


Casual dresses and skirts are recommended for the first three rounds. The parties during these rounds are very short and you will be visiting majority of the houses so make sure you are comfortable. Cool, lightweight fabrics are a necessity because of the hot weather. Dresses such as this one-shoulder BCBGeneration or Melly M printed strapless dress are both great options! There will also be a lot of walking so comfortable shoes are essential. As the week progresses, the dress for the rounds gets nicer so make sure your outfits do as well. Again, these are long days so remember to dress comfortably!

Prefs is the last round of rush and is a more formal event. Dresses or skirts that you would wear to a wedding or church service are appropriate. Many girls will wear black dresses but don't be afraid to wear color. This Robin Jordan pink and black dress is a great example of how to incorporate color for this round. Some of our other favorite options for this round are pictured below. Heels are recommended for this day but are not required.

After you have made the all important decision of what sorority to join, it is time to celebrate. Bid day is a very exciting day for all!! New members are required to wear white dresses and MARY has great options from Robin Jordan and Velvet.
